Traveling Ghana,Things to do,Things to Eat,Places to visit

Traveling to  Ghana first time
My name is Purav and I m an Indian living in Ghana since past five years, I would like to share some of my experiences while living in Ghana.Living and Ghana is just like living in any other African country however this country has a lot more to offer to expats.
I would encourage people who would like to visit either on tourist purpose or on any other purpose to come and see Ghana once, trust me you wont regret your decision.
Getting a Ghana visa is very easy all you need is the valid passport,Yellow fever Vaccine, your travel plan with hotel booking details ,visa fees $100 (for most country) and you are good to go please refer www.gis.gov.gh for more information.
Traveling in Ghana is a major challenge people do often scam tourist so in my opinion its better if you download uber,Yango,Fameko Taxi before arriving in Ghana and book your ride to your hotels and any other placed you wish to go,trust me its much more cheaper than other an average price for 5 km distance is $2.00 with uber and yango.
Experience the food Culture In Ghana
You can try a lot of many local dishes in Ghana, remember some of them are so heavy that your body couldn’t digest and you end up lying in hospital.before you eat let me inform you most of the dishes has a lot of starch on It so if you are a fan of corn starch you can enjoy otherwise just try the other local foods like fried plantain(Kelewele) ,roasted plantain with groundnuts, kenke, wakye, tilapia (Famous Fish in Ghana ),Tuo Zaafi..etc, I can suggest few restaurants to try the local foods like Orient Express,Buka Restaurant,Azmera Restaurant,Marwako ,Coco Lounge,Asanka Restaurant.
I would suggest you to carry your passport or the soft copy of your passport with visa page on your mobile every time just to avoid paying money to the police (called Chop Chop )as I have encountered with them many times and ended up paying 5 cedis to 10 cedis remember just like most other african countries the same rule applies here be good with them and they are good with you.in my opinion giving 5 cedis isnt a big deal for me but I would encourage you to keep travel documents with you at all time in any form either copy of it or soft copy on your mobile.
